The areas of Bristol where property prices have

rocketed this year.

Property prices in Bristol have risen by an average of 20 per cent in the last year alone, according to Bristol Live analysis of Land Registry data via Rightmove.

Between April 2020 and March 2021 - the most recent period for which data is available - the average price paid for a home in Bristol rose from £309,544 to £370,206, a difference of £60,661.

The postcode with the biggest relative price increase was BS14, which includes Hengrove, Stockwood, and Whitchurch.

The postcode saw its average property sale price increase from £198,658 to to £294,154, a 48 per cent hike.

BS6, which covers Cotham, Redland, Montpelier, Westbury Park, St. Andrew's, was the postcode district with the next highest percentage increase, with a 42 per cent average rise from £414,533 to £589,021.

The data take in to account the sale prices of all detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses, as well as flats.

Note that both April 2020 and March 2021 were months in which the UK was in some form of lockdown due to coronavirus.

An area of Bristol has been named as one of the best places to live in the UK in 2020 by the Sunday Times.

The harbourside came in at number three in the South West region in the newspaper's annual round-up, behind Cheltenham in top spot and Bear Flat in Bath at number two.

In recent years Bristol's harbourside has been subject to a massive regeneration project, with the likes of Wapping Wharf transforming the old dockside into one of the most popular spots in the city.

It is now seen as a top foodie destination which attracts diners far and wide thanks to top restaurants like Box-E, Woky Ko and Tare, as well as being one of Bristol's most sought after places to live. Although, of course, we can't eat out at the moment.

Bristol is at the top of the list as a house price Hot Spot for the last decade

Bristol is at the top of the list of housing market hotspots in past decade.

Rightmove analysed changes in average asking prices between September 2010 and September 2020.

Looking outside London, it found that six of the top 10 locations where asking prices have increased the most over the past 10 years are in Bristol.

Easton in Bristol, has seen the biggest 10-year surge, with asking prices more than doubling (a 120% increase) over the past decade.

The current average asking price in Easton is £283,397. This is an increase of nearly £155,000 from 10 years ago, Rightmove said.
